WHEN: Tuesday, January 9, 2007 @ 6:30 PM
WHERE: Loudoun County Public Schools Admin. Building
2100 Education Ct, Ashburn, VA 20148
WHY: The School Board will be setting the final boundaries for the new Sycolin Creek Elementary school. Our community has remained engaged and active throughout the boundary process. We are close to reaching our goal of remaining at Evergreen Mill Elementary, but we will need your continued support by sending email to the School Board and attending the final meeting on Tuesday, January 9th - wearing white.
While many of us share mixed emotions with the current School Board plan that would send Woodlea and Greenway to Sycolin Creek, we also realize the need for relief at EMES. The latest plan would keep Evergreen Meadows at our community school and will greatly reduce class sizes while providing our children and community with the long term boundary stability that is needed.
Please remember to send email to the School Board and express your support for School Board Alternate Plan A at: schools@loudoun.k12.va.us and lcpsplan@loudoun.k12.va.us
I agree with Dave Carver, we need to email our school board in support for School Board Alternate Plan A. Email addresses are : schools@loudoun.k12.va.us and lcpsplan@loudoun.k12.va.us.
It is also imperative we all show up (dressed in white) at next Tuesday evening board meeting. After seeing our strong turnout back in December, they delayed their final decision to a cold winter night in mid-January (where people are more likely to stay in their warm homes than attend a board meeting.)
I would also suggest we email and fax as many news outlets and invite them to the board meeting. The board may be less likely to force elementary students who could walk across the street to a neighbor school to be bus 7 miles down street!
